Textiles contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, excessive raw material use, water and land consumption, chemical pollution, and microplastic release. EEA argues that a systemic shift is essential, focusing on durability, reuse, repair, and recycling. The EEA’s Circular Metrics Lab will track progress through its new textiles monitoring module.
