Summary

Aware™ validates sustainability claims of textile products, by making true and clean data available using tracer and blockchain technology. With a simple scan you can distinguish false material from genuine sustainable fabric. On top of that you have access to all traceability data. This information and certainty allow brands to be transparent.

“As a production supply chain of final products can be long, how to be sure that original sustainable feedstock has been used in the final product? Do you dare to guarantee? With truth at the heart of everything we do, we’ve developed an honest, innovative technology to keep track of our sustainable materials throughout a supply chain. Our four-step process [Activate, Produce, Scan, Authenticate] offers secure traceability of our sustainable materials and a true story from start to finish.” – Aware

Summary

Better Work – a collaboration between the United Nation’s International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group – is a comprehensive programme bringing together all levels of the garment industry to improve working conditions and respect of labour rights for workers, and boost the competitiveness of apparel businesses.
Currently, the programme is active in 1,700 factories employing more than 2.4 million workers in nine countries.  As well as advising factories, Better Work collaborates with governments to improve labour laws, and with brands to ensure progress is sustained. We also advise unions on how to give workers a greater say in their lives, and work with donors to help achieve their broader development goals.
Our vision is a global garment industry that lifts millions of people out of poverty by providing decent work, empowering women, driving business competitiveness and promoting inclusive economic growth.

Summary

We address three key challenges of today’s fashion industry: the need for transparent supply chains, the ability to prove product origin and to support sustainability claims. Our DNA marker creates a unique fingerprint to identify a brand, a supplier or even production lot. Our data is highly reliable, because each marker is unique and the info about the origin and journey is safely embedded into the product all time.
The marker is solved in liquid and then sprayed onto the textile product. The application can easily be integrated into existing automated production processes. The read out can be done with the final or any intermediate product with a simple test. The DNA marker is harmless for humans and the environment, GMO-free, vegan, GOTS and OekoTex 100 compliant, yet strong enough to withstand all industrial processing.

Summary

Kno Global’s approach starts by building community with factory workers. Once workers feel heard, we convert real-time data into actionable targets for factory managers to improve upon. This helps keep workers satisfied and more willing to stay at the factory for longer, so the factory can reduce turnover costs and boost productivity.
KNO is used by brands like Amazon, Target, Decathlon and Orange, to track human sustainability risks across their supply chain. KNO’s vision is to humanise the supply chain and reach 50m workers globally.
Our Founder and CEO Marianne started the business as a regular consumer moved by a Bangladesh factory collapse, and resulted in her moving to China to work in a factory.
