Summary

We address three key challenges of today’s fashion industry: the need for transparent supply chains, the ability to prove product origin and to support sustainability claims. Our DNA marker creates a unique fingerprint to identify a brand, a supplier or even production lot. Our data is highly reliable, because each marker is unique and the info about the origin and journey is safely embedded into the product all time.
The marker is solved in liquid and then sprayed onto the textile product. The application can easily be integrated into existing automated production processes. The read out can be done with the final or any intermediate product with a simple test. The DNA marker is harmless for humans and the environment, GMO-free, vegan, GOTS and OekoTex 100 compliant, yet strong enough to withstand all industrial processing.

The company’s vision is to inspire an Industrial Evolution to a sustainable world by producing high quality materials from recycled textiles.
Through its patented process, Renewcell is able to upcycle cellulosic textile waste, such as cotton clothes, transforming it into a pristine new material called Circulose®. Renewcell is regularly recognized for its work to make fashion sustainable. Most recently, Renewcell was named one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies 2021 by Fast Company. Circulose® was also included on TIME Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Inventions 2020.
Circulose® is a branded ‘dissolving pulp’ product that Renewcell makes from 100% recycled cotton textiles.
Dissolving pulp is what the textile industry uses to make viscose, lyocell, and other types of ‘man-made cellulosic fibers’. The only difference with Circulose® is that the pulp is made from textile waste instead of wood.
Recycling clothes finally works.
