The humanitarian impact of war is devastating, and the ecological impact of war could affect people for decades to come.

Global Fashion Agenda strongly advocates peace for the protection of people and planet and stands in solidarity with those currently enduring such immeasurable hardships.

At this critical time when, according to the latest IPCC report, 40% of the world’s population is “highly vulnerable” to the impacts of climate change, war will create irreversible damage to the regional as well as the global environment. Increasing GHG emissions into the atmosphere, war puts countries at higher risk of climate-change related disasters, whilst explosions can lead to destructive forest fires, the devastation of vital wetlands and much more.

“I deeply sympathise for also those struggling in the face of the Ukrainian crisis,” said Federica Marchionni, CEO, Global Fashion Agenda. “No human being should have to endure the hardships that they are currently facing. Whether they’re protecting their families, joining the fight, providing aid and essential services, or tirelessly defending human rights, the courageous efforts in response to war is truly inspiring and demonstrates the power of human determination and resilience.”
