Defining Terms and Understanding Sustainable Brand Practices

GFA Academy proudly introduces an exciting new Masterclass series aimed at educating both consumers and emerging brands navigating the dynamic landscape of the fashion industry. This series has been organised as a response to the Fashion Redressed series, produced for us and our members by BBC StoryWorks.

With a noticeable gap in consumer understanding of industry jargon*, our mission is clear: to foster communication built on clarity, conciseness, and accessibility. The question that arises is, how can we forge a clearer dialogue between consumers and brands?

Mark your calendars for the “Defining Terms and Understanding Sustainable Brand Practices” Masterclass. This session is dedicated to unraveling the complexities of sustainability by explaining key terms and concepts.

Date: 18 October, 2023

Time: 04:00 PM CET

Format: Online

*According to the BBC Global Minds survey, 74% of consumers expressed interest in learning more about the origins of their clothes and their sustainability. Though, when it came to explaining terms like “sustainable” and “ethical,” participants were more confident, with more novel concepts and commitments such as “circular economy,” “net zero,” and “eco-conscious” garnering less attention.
