The Role

As CSO, you will help steer the Agenda with groundbreaking research publications and new transformative initiatives as well as lead current collective actions with Impact Programmes, guiding the Impact team and initiatives such as the GCFP (Global Circular Fashion Partnership), the Renewable Energy Initiative, Gender Pay Gap, and the Fashion CEO Agenda, GFA Monitor. Working closely with the CEO and the COO, as well as cooperating with the rest of the GFA Team and eco-system, you’ll spearhead the development and implementation of GFA’s sustainability strategy and action. Your leadership will be pivotal in developing partnerships, securing funding, and fostering collaboration to address systemic challenges in the global fashion value chain.

Your Impact

  • Lead the execution of GFA’s sustainability vision by translating it into actionable targets and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop and oversee impact programs focused on key issues, including renewable energy, circularity, and living wages.
  • Foster high-level multi-stakeholder partnerships, seeking grants for impact programs, research publications and overseeing good governance and financial administration.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for GFA, representing its mission in global forums.
  • Inspire, elevate and successfully manage diverse teams encouraging a trustworthy environment across departments and the GFA’s eco-system.

What You Will Bring

  • A minimum of 10 years in leadership roles, with significant experience driving sustainability actions in the fashion industry.
  • A deep understanding of social and environmental sustainability challenges with the ambition to accelerate the sustainability agenda in fashion and measure impact.
  • Proven expertise in systemic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and program development.
  • Financial acumen and experience in seeking grants for global initiatives.
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing culture within remote,
    multicultural teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, paired with a “Yes We Can” attitude.
  • Fluency in English is a must, both written and spoken.
  • Being based in Copenhagen (or close to one of the European fashion hubs).

To bring the Global Fashion Summit 2025 to life, we are seeking enthusiastic and passionate Support Crew to be part of the buzz and contribute to the world’s leading sustainable fashion event.

Tasks You’ll Be Involved In

  • Assisting with setup on the Build Day before the Summit.
  • Welcoming and checking in guests at the entrance.
  • Providing guidance and assistance to guests with various questions.
  • Supporting all areas of the Summit and assisting at side events if needed.
  • Helping with break-down after the final Summit day.

 

What We’re Looking For

As part of the Support Crew, you’ll be the face of the Global Fashion Summit 2025, playing a pivotal role in welcoming and guiding some of the most influential voices in the fashion industry. We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Fluent in English.
  • Helpful, organised, and approachable.
  • Confident with hosting and providing excellent guest experiences.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • 18 years or older.
  • It is a requirement that you are able to travel to Denmark and be available from June 2–5, 2025.

Job Description

This is a full-time internship, beginning February 2025 and lasting for five/six months. Remote applicants are accepted however it is expected that the applicant will be in-person in Copenhagen during Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition, June 2025.

You will assist the Publications & Impact Programmes team which is responsible for moreover GFA’s thought leadership publications; namely the Fashion CEO Agenda and the GFA Monitor, as well as the Fashion Industry Target Consultation and Impact Programmes such as the Circular Fashion Partnership. As the Sustainability Assistant, you will work closely with the Sustainability Manager to assist in the research and development of publication content and coordination of related activities at Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition.

Assignments

  • Carry out research tasks to inform publications and consultation content. Research can cover topics across both social and environmental sustainability – refer to our Fashion CEO Agenda priority framework here
  • Map relevant industry case studies to include in our publications
  • Assist the coordination of meetings, events, launches (online and in-person) related to Impact team activities, including our flagship event – Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition
  • Keep the team updated on the latest industry movements, new reports, key stakeholder activities of relevance to our workstreams
  • Research possible other thought leadership avenues and formats to best inspire and mobilise industry action
  • Manage the team’s mailbox
  • Support the team in any ad hoc duties and internal administration support
  • Assist in the maintenance of our CRM database
  • Assist with office tasks together with the organisation’s other interns (if in-person)

Attributes

  • Currently studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an interest in developing your professional skills through practical experience
  • Are passionate about social and environmental sustainability within the textile and apparel sector
  • Have studied and or have experience in the sustainability and/ or fashion field
  • Have a high-spirited work attitude and embrace challenges with a positive mindset
  • Extremely organised, can take the initiative, work independently, and take on responsibility for assignments
  • Can adapt to different work tasks, and are willing to work flexible hours around key deadlines and events
  • Possess strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Proficient user of Mac, Outlook, Google, Zoom, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
  • A team player, pro-active, enthusiastic and sociable with a positive outlook

The internship is a great opportunity to obtain relevant experience in sustainability and gain insight into the fashion industry in general. Interns must currently be enrolled at a higher education institution.

As an organisation founded and headquartered in Denmark, our internship policy aligns with the Danish policy whereby students receive ECTS points when carrying out an internship as part of their studies to support their development while they continue to be covered by a Danish study grant during their internship. As such, GFA interns gain an acknowledgement of a maximum of 3,000 DKK per month of the internship, which they receive at the end of the internship period. While we welcome student internship applications from outside of Denmark, the gratuity remains consistent with Danish policy.
