Marcus Hartmann joined H&M in 2022 as Regional Head of Public Affairs & Sustainability for North Europe. Marcus is a leader with an outside-in perspective skilled in public affairs, sustainability, PR, and media management. Marcus' career is built from a variety of roles and industries within communications and sustainability such as Chief of staff at the Swedish government, Communications & Marketing Director at Teracom, and Nordics Corporate and Government Affairs Lead at Mondelez International.
Lars Fogh Mortensen is an expert on textiles, circular economy and sustainability at the European Environment Agency (EEA) and a member of the Club of Rome. He is a trained economist from the University of Copenhagen and has over 20 years of experience on analytical and policy aspects of sustainability - including on environmental impacts from the clothing and fashion industry - from various international organizations. Lars also has experience previously from running a company on risk and sustainability and from working at the OECD in Paris, the UN Rio Secretariat in New York and the Danish Ministry of Environment.
In her position as Head of Responsible Sourcing at BESTSELLER, Felicity leads the global team working to secure the human rights and environmental risks at more than 400 suppliers, which produce at more than 800 factories, employing over 700,000 people across 17 production countries. Through implementation of responsible business practices, extensive national and international stakeholder engagement, and on the ground capacity-building programmes, the team work to implement continuous improvement in social and environmental due-diligence. In addition to participation in many multi-stakeholder initiatives for social and environmental impact, Felicity is also currently serving as a brand representative on the Steering Committee of the International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry, and the Board of Directors of the RMG Sustainability Council in Bangladesh.
Lea Wermelin is a politician a part of The Social Democratic Party in Denmark who was appointed Minister of the Environment in the Social Democratic minority government when Mette Frederiksen took office on 27 June 2019. She was a minister until the formation of the SVM government on 15 December 2022. Wermelin is a cand.scient.pol. from the University of Copenhagen in 2011.
Elizabeth McCullough was accredited as Ambassador of Ireland to Denmark in February 2023. Ambassador McCullough has had an extensive career in the diplomatic service, having served as EU Director in the Prime Minister’s Office, UN Director in the Department of Foreign Affairs, and in a range of overseas postings including Paris, London, New York, and Vienna. While EU and multilateral work has been a particular focus throughout her career, cultural and trade promotion have also been top priorities. Reflecting Ireland’s longstanding tradition of quality craft, design and production, she has hosted a number of events in Copenhagen around sustainable textiles and broader fashion design.
Ambassador Shahidul Karim assumed his role at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Copenhagen in December 2022. In addition to Denmark, he is concurrently accredited as Ambassador to Estonia and Iceland. With an extensive diplomatic career, Mr. Karim has held key positions both at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka and in Bangladesh Missions abroad, including Stockholm, Cairo, and London. Notably, he served as Bangladesh’s Consul General in Jeddah. Prior to his first Ambassadorial appointment in Bhutan, he was the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Throughout his career, trade and investment promotion have been integral aspects of his responsibilities, reflecting his commitment to advancing Bangladesh’s global economic engagement
Virginijus Sinkevičius has been the European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries from 2019 to 2024. He was formerly the Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, Sinkevičius was a member of the Lithuanian Parliament since October 2016 where he headed the committee of economy. Sinkevičius has also been a Team Lead for Regulatory Affairs at Invest Lithuania, and Managing Editor at the US Office of The Lithuanian Tribune in Washington D.C.
