Global Fashion Group (GFG), the leading online fashion and lifestyle destination in emerging markets and Global Fashion Agenda, the leading non-profit for industry collaboration on sustainability in fashion, have today announced a strategic partnership. As the only strategic partner operating across Latin America, the CIS, Southeast Asia and Australia, GFG joins Global Fashion Agenda’s Strategic Partner Group to help support the organisation’s ambition in spearheading the fashion industry’s journey towards a more sustainable future.

The new partnership sees Global Fashion Agenda, which is responsible for the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, and thought leadership publications including Fashion on Climate and Fashion CEO Agenda, recognise GFG’s sustainable efforts to drive the conversation on sustainability in growth markets.

GFG’s People & Planet Positive agenda illustrates the Group’s journey and commitment to being a company that integrates sustainability into the core of its operations by applying the highest duty of care to its people all over the world and its supply chain. From today, GFG will also play an active role in the development of the Global Fashion Agenda’s thought leadership platform and Fashion CEO Agenda, alongside a number of other various fashion leaders from all aspects of the industry.  The agenda aims to encourage brands to implement circular design strategies into their production, including the insertion of used garments, resold pieces and recycled post-consumer textiles toward their supply chain.

Patrick Schmidt, Co-CEO of Global Fashion Group said: “GFG is proud to be Global Fashion Agenda’s newest strategic partner together with some of our peers and industry influencers. One of the key ways to create even more impact in executing GFG’s People & Planet Positive agenda is through industry collaboration. As the leading online fashion & lifestyle destination in growth markets, together with our customers, we are in a very unique position to help drive meaningful change, and this is another step in GFG’s journey.”

Frederica Marchionni, CEO of Global Fashion Agenda, said: “Global Fashion Agenda strives to bring together partners that represent industry perspectives from across the world and from various parts of the supply chain. Global Fashion Group has demonstrated strong commitments to sustainability and, through our partnership, we are pleased to expand our representation in new markets so that we can work together to create impact at an even greater scale.”

As the newest member, GFG joins a growing list of Strategic Partners associated with Global Fashion Agenda including: ASOS, BESTSELLER, Fung Group, H&M Group, Kering, Nike, PVH Corp., Ralph Lauren Corporation, Sustainable Apparel Coalition, and Target.
